CEO, Mr. Steve Selbst leads our business operations including contracting and provider reimbursement analysis. He is responsible for all of Healthcents Inc.’s business processes, contracts management, negotiations, and computing systems which are used to enable Healthcents to get providers maximum reimbursements on payer contracts. He has successfully negotiated over 20,000 payer contracts and is the inventor of RevolutionSoftware, Healthcents’ state-of-the-art web service product for payer contracts’ analysis. Under Steve’s leadership, many of the largest practices, DME / HME companies, specialty labs, behavioral health and other ancillary providers in the USA have become Healthcents’ reference accounts. Steve leads the development and delivery of Healthcents’ Blueprint for Success Class, which is sponsored by medical associations such as the AUA, and large Hospital Based Practices. He teaches medical providers the “secret sauce” about how to negotiate payer contracts. Steve is a featured speaker and payer contracting expert for associations and companies including Medtrade, AAOE, Coding Leader, AAHAM, NHIA and many others.
Steve’s background includes over two decades of executive management with IBM, and he is well known in the software and healthcare businesses as a leader who builds new businesses quickly and profitably. His experience includes the managing of complex multi-site and multi-company software development including labs in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. He managed a staff of over 300 people in the development of complex business intelligence software used by companies all over the world for query, reporting and data analysis. Steve has been quoted in many press releases and was one of the software industry leaders in the development of metadata standards across enterprises and has built several strategic business partnerships including one of the most important OLAP (On Line Analytic Processing) business agreements in the industry. Steve holds a BS in Business from Arizona State University, Summa Cum Laude, and was invited to apply for a Fulbright Scholarship.
Founder and President, Ms. Susan Charkin MPH, leads client strategy and new business development. Susan has a very successful and proven track record in enabling medical care providers to make more money. Susan’s background includes 20 years of experience in senior contracting positions with Health Net, Blue Cross of California, Blue Shield of California, Blue Cross Blue Shield of the National Capital Area (Washington, D.C.), Aetna, MaxiCare and UCSF.
Susan has a complete understanding of healthcare reimbursement from the perspective of both providers and insurance companies and is one of the few individuals in the USA with this unique background. Susan is also a leading author and national speaker on managed care contracting issues and has been published in journals such as Specialty Capitation and the Emergency Medical Services Insider Journal. She holds a Masters in Public Health Administration from USF and was a Trustee at Natividad Medical Center, a 160+ bed public tertiary care facility in central California. Susan not only has the ability to define a current plan to maximize your provider reimbursement today, but also she has the insight and knowledge to define and implement a commercial payer reimbursement plan that will stand the test of time to maximize your reimbursements going forward in this era of new healthcare reform and uncertainty.
VP, Account Management, Ms. Lisa Streit leads the strategic account planning, account management and managed care contracting at Healthcents, Inc. She is responsible for the overall success of Healthcents’ relationship with our clients. She has nearly 30 years of experience in strategic account planning, client relationship management, business development and operations delivery for national and global healthcare services companies. She has a comprehensive working knowledge of private and public health care markets and is well versed in critical products, services and business processes to support managed care operations for both the payer and provider.
During her career, Lisa has successfully outlined and executed managed care reimbursement strategies for national ASC management companies and a national lab company. In addition to her work with providers, she has worked closely with national payers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, to assure administration systems can support complex reimbursement methodologies in accordance with the dynamic healthcare market. She speaks at national conferences and has published articles in several trade newsletters.
Lisa holds a BA from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster PA. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA and is active in her community.
Director of Accounts, Ms. Donna Elliott has been successfully leading and closing payer contracts for our premier clients, with a track record of enabling healthcare providers to make more money on their agreements. Donna is a payer contracting specialist, with a background that includes 20 years of experience in contracts’ negotiations positions with healthcare providers as well as local, regional, and national health insurance companies. Donna has a comprehensive understanding of healthcare reimbursement from both the provider and payer perspectives that allows her to foster strong business relationships with healthcare organizations to enhance insurance agreements. Donna’s skills and experience are complimented by her education in finance and accounting, including a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University and a Master of Science in Finance from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration.
Healthcare Marketing Manager, Ms. Lisa Frank leads both traditional and online marketing, communications and SEO efforts for Healthcents as well as many of our clients. Lisa brings over a decade of experience in Internet Marketing. Her background includes e-Commerce Communications at Things Remembered where she managed all online communication including, e-blasts, copy and content creation. Since 2004, she has successfully managed her own consulting business assisting a nationwide base of clients with their marketing and search needs. Her extensive experience specializes in all areas of internet marketing including; social media marketing, search engine optimization, web content development, search engine marketing, website optimization, pay-per-click advertising, e-mail marketing, and print ad creation. Lisa holds a BA in Communication from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
